Indian government changes FDI policy

Government of India takes very important decision on FDI policy on Tuesday for 13 sectors. This decision was taken to boost foreign investment in India in light of depriciatating  rupee against dollar.

 

Basic and Cellular Services

FDI in basic and cellular services hiked to 100%. It was 74% before rise. Government has decided to implement 49% FDI in this sector via automatic route while from 49% to 100% via Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB).

 

Petroleum and Natural Gas and Refining

FDI in Petroleum and Natural Gas and Refining hiked to 49%. FDI in this sector shall implement via automatic route.

 

Power Exchanges

FDI in Power Exchanges hiked to 49%. FDI in this sector shall implement via automatic route.

 

Stock Exchanges, Depositories, Corporation 

FDI in Stock Exchanges, Depositories, and Corporation hiked to 49%. FDI in this sector shall implement via automatic route.

 

Asset Reconstruction companies

FDI Asset Reconstruction companies hiked to 100%. Government has decided to implement 49% FDI in this sector via automatic route while from 49% to 100% via Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB).

 

Credit Information companies

FDI in Credit Information companies hiked to 74%. FDI in this sector shall implement via automatic route.

 

Single Brand Retail trading

FDI Single Brand Retail trading hiked to 100%. Government has decided to implement 49% FDI in this sector via automatic route while from 49% to 100% via Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB).

 

Courier Services

FDI in Courier Services hiked to 100%. FDI in this sector shall implement via automatic route.

 

Defense Production

Government also decided to implement FDI in defense sector by 26% under finance ministry node and above this 26% cabinet committee on security will decide.
