deepika-kumari-won-silver-medalIndia’s Deepika Kumari has settled for a silver medal at the Archery World Cup in Paris, France. In the finals, Deepika lost to the Korean Olympic champion Ok-Hee Yun, 6-4, and had to settle for a Silver in the showpiece annual fixture, held after four stages. This was Deepika’s third successive silver in the World Cup.

The 19-year-old started brilliantly with three perfect 10s and led 3-1. But, a shocking time lapse in the third set enabled the Korean sail past the Indian for a 6-4 win.

This was the Yun’s second gold in the World Cup Final after 2010, while for Deepika, it was her second loss to Yun as the Indian once again could not overcome the Korean jinx.
