SEO friendly website bags more business

28 Dec

We can have lots of information available on internet today in the form of various classes. For example, when we talk about an E-Education or Online Education Programs – there are so many websites that market the same product or concept, websites that offer manufacturing know-how, websites that provide simple information on the topic and websites that just simply talk about the same. The importance of information posted on a business website is always to the end of selling and making profits.

Therefore, the information which is business oriented should be displayed to the customers at all times. Now that all this is taken care of, how to make sure that a particular website is found by the visitor? There could be millions of websites dealing in the same product. This is where the concept and process of  search engine optimization  comes in. The need to develop or design the site to be search engine friendly takes the drivers seat here, in an effort to optimize a particular site out of the billions on the internet today.

Search engine majors like MSN, Google, Yahoo and AltaVista crawl through the internet perpetually by using programs called bots or spiders. Their function is to read the websites and file them into a category and finally index them in a huge catalog. When a visitor accesses a search engine and types in his search criterion, the search engines scan their indexes for a match and display the results, out of which the visitor can select a website to visit.

It is possible to design a website by keeping them in mind to ensure that the website ranks highest in the search engine results. In this multi-pronged advantageous process, the higher a website is ranked, the higher is the traffic. Moreover, if the website stays there continuously, it builds credibility amongst potential customers and the traffic builds automatically.

The whole process of search engine optimization generally takes about 3 to 4 months after the design phase is over. This is the time taken by the crawlers to finalize the index after numerous visits. Submissions to search engines is another option but not necessary because, all search engines automatically crawl and find new websites on a continued basis.

Importance of SEO while designing website

27 Dec

SEO and web design must go hand in hand. Many web designers these days are incorporating SEO in the web design process. However, many companies do not understand the importance of the role SEO plays in your website design, and ignore the value SEO could bring to their website while in the designing stages.

It becomes easier to get traffic to the site if it has an SEO friendly web design. For example, many technologies make a site look “cool” but are not search engine friendly. If your website design uses many of these technologies, then you may either be blocking or slowing down a search engine when it tries to access the content on your website. If a search engine cannot quickly and easily access content on your website, it is unlikely to rank high in search results. Incorporating SEO best practices in your website goes beyond just content and linking. It needs to happen with technology decisions, site architecture, navigation and more. And this is where SEO can play a vital role in your website design.

The content of the page is also a very important aspect of SEO. Before getting the website ready, the web designer should get an understanding of what the website is all about. Once the designer has determined this, he/she can make a list of keywords that users might search for to get information that is there on the website. Placing the right number of keywords on the page meaningfully will help the page rank better in search results. If keywords are added to the content while the web page is being created, then it will save money and time, as you would not have to go back to an already created web page and make changes to the content for SEO reasons.

Off-site optimization is about link development. The links from other sites pointing to yours play an important role in increasing the search engine ranking of the page. However, neither link building nor search friendly content will be of much use if your web design is not SEO compliant.

SEO is as important to creating a website as the design itself. If the website is designed keeping SEO in mind, then the page will start ranking from the time of its existence and will attract visitors from search engines. If SEO were incorporated from the web design stage, then you would be spending less time and money in undoing what is already done and adding newer search engine friendly things to get your page ranking.
